Gay Black History Month: A Comedy Event



Following the Blue Hen Comedy Open Mic and the Black Privilege Comedy show, Comedian Brandon Jackson will present humorous commentary on the nature of blackness, masculinity, homosexuality and all the contradictions therein.

The Black Privilege Comedy Show preceded by the Blue Hen Comedy Open Mic is...

...Starring Brandon Jackson, a young comedian from Wilmington, Delaware and a graduate of the University of Delaware. He runs and hosts the Blue Hen Comedy Show and can be seen performing all over Philadelphia. He was the opening act for the live talk show Hang On W/Aaron Nevins (A Philebrity award nominee) and headlined Comedy Dreamz at the nightclub, the Barbary. Jackson is also regular performer at the weekly Philly Comedy Attic Showcase at the Raven Lounge in Center City Philadelphia.

Jackson is also in the midst of a young yet distinguished career as a youth mentor. He received the Delaware Governor's Award and the President's Award for Volunteer Service for his work as a counselor for adjudicated youth and as a college access advisor for low-income students.

The performance will take place on February 20th, 2014. The Open Mic will run from 8- 10 pm and the show will start at 9PM and ending at 10:30 PM and located at he Newark Bike Project at136 South Main Street, Newark, Delaware.
Why This Show? Why Now? 

In these times of heated racial discourse in America a voice is needed too provide a humorous and healing commentary on the issues of race and privilege in America.

The show is free and welcome to anyone over the age of 18. Open Mic sign ups start at 7:30PM. There is limited space available so seats will be reserved for people who RSVP.
